Well I had an awesome time. It's always a bummer when the wind blows like it did but I'm glad everyone made the best of it.
Dad and Mom were busy with prior plans and Whit had to work so I decided to drag a buddy from Havasu along. He had a great time! I laid out the beginner course early Saturday and thanks to the No Name crew, I didn't have to tie more than .2 of ribbon. Took my buddy to go ride some of the single track Hodge had to offer afterwards. Glad that the Beginner / Sport event is getting lots of participation. It seemed like everyone had a good time despite the windy conditions.
The course on Sunday was awesome. First loop I felt very nervous and hesitant but as the day went on I found my groove and got more comfortable on the Hodge terrain. Matt and crew did a great job taking us on virgin single track and keeping us out of the over-ridden whooped out trails. The added Master / Expert splits were fun and technical creating this lower back pain I feel today but I had enjoyed every minute of it yesterday. My favorite quote from Travis was, "I didn't realize it would be this challenging..." after we didn't read the sign and accidentally rode the second split on loop 1 (Oh well, extra fun). Other than my one burn at the 4.7 check, I had a great ride for the entire day. I'll apply burn cream and get some sort of revenge next month! Hope to see you all at the Keg Run! |
Having fun and on time!

I lost all kinds of points: late and a burn!
Last year I commented on how surprised and pleased I was that Matt had been able to find such excellent single track at Hodge! I guess he considered the fact that last year I didn't drop any points to be a clear indication that his course was too easy!
It was still excellent single track, much better than the usual stuff I see at Hodge, but it was a lot harder than last year! I really enjoyed it, but I really had to work for it!
They really caught me in the 4 MPH section though! I had been losing time in the 24 MPH section and the last time I had bothered to check the ICO I was a minute and a half down! Normally when I get to a 4 MPH section there is a crowd of people there, but this time I round a corner, see a check, glance at my ICO and crap!
The Chili Cookoff was great, and for once I didn't eat too much!
Great job, and a load of thanks to the Eberhardts

Got Rocks? Great course, the rocks kept me on my toes all day. Really struggled with my odometer and keeping time. Even so I had fun all day Randy |

Fun, tough event. You could tell Matt and crew put a lot of effort into cutting new trails. Virgin trail at Hodge always makes you feel like you forgot how to ride the first time around but every loop after just gets better and better. I'm glad we only had to do the canyon on the second split one time, that thing was gnarly! The wind wrecked havoc on most of the arrows on the third split but plenty of ribbon made the course still plenty followable as long as you paid attention. Checks were sneaky and got me for seconds here and there and had me doing a lot of scrubbing throughout the day. Thanks to the No Name crew for a top quality TWMC enduro! |

Nope, didn't lose any points through the second check before heading over to race HBMC. It gives me great joy to see another trail boss use sections of the 2014 Sleigh Ride course that was virgin at the time & really enjoyed seeing some new trail that I had never been on before. The E-kids had a great check 2 location. Really special seeing Ned's family there to see him get his award & having Kelly present the inaugural award will be a joyful memory for a really long time. Thanks to everyone that helped to put on the event. |

Great event! I could tell lot of time went in to this one for the race crew. New trails, lots of turns, splits and lots lot of ribbon.....Great course got better every loop. As for me the wheels fell off. Lost my ICO pick up and followed my son who has never kept time. He learned fast! Got a flat (Hodge) and finished at the nov /SS finish. That my friends is that! Great to see everyone! Thanks for hard work No Name Crew!

I do recall just passing you just before the check then looking at my timekeeping equipment to realize I just hit a 4MPH. It was definitely a sneaky one! |

Hats off to Matt and his family for an awesome event! I loved the course and they did a great job with the signs and marking ! I did by mistake take the first master split on the first loop and I’m glad I did because I didn’t get to finish the fourth loop, I noticed my kickstarter missing broken off as I was going out for the last loop and was bummed out , but I want to thank the Eberhardt kids for finding it for me, saved me some money #128077;. Again great job and thank you Patrick O’Neal |

I want to thank everyone for coming out to the event. We tried to lay out a course that was, first of all, safe, and, second, would be challenging for everyone. I wanted you guys and girls to feel tired and proud after finishing that one. Hopefully, we accomplished that for some of you. I know the splits were a little confusing to some but, I think they helped give everyone a course they might be happy with. Short of the missing signs at the end of the loops, everything went off pretty well.
Thank you to everyone that participated in the potluck. This is by far my favorite potluck of the year.
A special thanks to everyone who helped put in the event. Ned and John for working checks, the start crew, Cheryl, Anna, Eileen, and Gia for getting it going and working the finish checks. Thank you to the Starks who drove out and found my third loop finish and other check at the last minute. Thank you to Brad for spending three weekends in the desert helping get everything in order and to Eileen for letting him!
I can't wait until next year to do it all over again.

First huge thanks to Matt, Sarah, and the kids for all the time they put into this course.. the splits are a lot of extra work but greatly appreciated by those of us who like the challenging stuff. Also Thanks to Brad and Eileen I know they helped out a lot. Thanks to my lovely bride and the rest of the start crew for a great send off and I had so much fun. My only minor disappointment is they bypassed the gully with the waterfall stepups after the first loop... that was epic. Matt got me good in the 12 mph section... i rode the possible then stopped at what looked to be a good check location.. I was at 35 seconds and and realized i still had a couple hundredths in the possible... I hustled over the edge and the coast looked pretty clear so I kept going... suddenly im seeing stakes 5 feet in front of me.. slid right through them and im looking around for a check crew and Matt musta had a spider hole there cause suddenly there he was..... about 8 seconds early I believe. The kids almost got me at another check but I managed to scrub into my minute before I tipped over much to their amusement:) I got a little behind at the end just out of my minute. Thanks again and Ill do my best to repay the favor in November!!!! |

This was the most fun TWMC event I've attended. the splits were a nice touch and speed averages were perfect. At one point on the second loop my computer decided to unmount itself and after losing 5 minutes trying to get it somewhat attached to the bike, I had to push hard to get back on time. Thank you for another great event, we should be at the next one!! |

Thank you to the volunteers. That was a fun challenging event. I knew that we were in for something special when I got stuck 2-3 times on Loop #1 Split #1. I personally have trouble timekeeping while trying to navigating through rock gardens. My bike was going everywhere except where I wanted it to go. On Sunday I was calling the event The Pin Ball 100 - but now I am calling it The Eberhzburg Rock Rodeo. |

I truly want to thank the club for the Lifetime Achievement Award I will display it proudly. Special thanks to Jeff Nelson who started the Award and arranged for the attendance of Kelly and Bill Fullmer and my family to be there. The tying this award to Anne, one of the original members who started the makes the Award even more special.
This club has a great many members who qualify for this Award and being the first is an honor.

A huge thank you to Matt & his family for a course well thought out. It was a pleasure working with all of you during the last three weeks. I really learned a lot from Matt on how all this is done and put together. Hopefully I can apply this knowledge and play it forward some day. It was fun watching & listening to Matts { creative } thoughts behind some of the check placements... Glad everyone made it home safe & had fun. even if a bit sore the next day. PS, Thankful for E-start. That was a lot of stopping & going to lay out that much ribbon & staking ..
Brad & Eileen. |

That’s two years in a row the Eberhardt crew has put on an outstanding event. I am really bummed that we weren’t able to stay and see Ned get his award. The weather has been so nice during the week that I didn’t even think to check for the weekend. Hope to catch up with everyone next time. |
